SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Section 4.9.2 of Trapper's permit application requires that the CAILRD be provided a
map illustrating proposed topsoil stockpile locations for the upcoming year and the
actual location of stockpiles constructed the previous year. The enclosed maps (5.1)
illustrate those topsoil stockpile locations for 1989 and 1990. The proposed locations
(1990) may exceed the actual number which are constructed. Topsoil pile locations and
the number of piles constructed are dependent on field conditions that are encountered
during the construction season. Additionally, portions of or additions to existing piles
may be required to cost effectively salvage or replace topsoil yardage during a particular
season.
During 1989, Trapper constructed seven new topsoil stock piles, added topsoil to four
existing piles, partially removed portions from three, restockpiled topsoil from two (see
below), and eliminated one stockpile that was proposed for construction in 1989.
The roadside stockpile west of Trapper's S-curve was moved to accommodate the new
Derringer pit haulroad. The topsoil stockpile in middle Pyeatt drainage (19,900 bcys)
was restockpiled to accommodate the Ashmore haulage corridor and topsoil salvage for
1989. Permit Table 4.9-4 describes Trapper's overall topsoil stockpile inventory through
the 1992 permit term.
•
