Please address each of the following items
in detail:
RE: Davis ranch and Koenig Pits:
In order to provide for a more suitable wildlife environment, please allow
for some irregular patterns in the shoreline (with shallows if possible)
and in the pit floor. Such irregular patterns in the shoreline tend to
induce avifauna and terrestrial wildlife to the area in preference to non-
irregular patterned shorelines typically created by such operations. Further,
irregularities in the pond floors provide suitable shelter for fish.
2. RE: Koenig Pit:
Please give a quantitative description of the percent cover of the major
plant species presently occurring on the site.
3. RE: Davis Ranch and Koenig Pits:
Please acknowledge that the operation shall maintain a minimum 100 foot
buffer strip between the operation and the Cache La Poudre River and the
South Platte River, respectively,
4. RE: Davis Ranch, Koenig, and Piercu Pits;
Please acknowledge that topsoil will be removed, stockpiled and kept
segregated from other materials.
Please acknowledge that topsoil will be removed prior to disturbance of
