containers housing the E-Co system will be located immediately east of the existing caustic soda and electrical
control buildings.
• A flow return line will carry any excess output (beyond the capacity of the treatment ponds) from the E-Co system
to the existing return line that connects to the old WMD vent shaft. In order to handle both normal dischazge and
any potential overflow from the treatment settling ponds, a 200-foot 12-inch bell and spigot PVC pipe will be
attached to the discharge culvert from the third and final treatment pond, which formerly directed treated water
through Site 115 to Fish Creek. This 12-inch PVC dischazge pipe will tie back into the southernmost Fish Creek
borehole pump shaft, which is no longer in use, to carry the water back underground.
Power for the E-Co system will be supplied from the adjacent substation. One powerpole was previously installed
adjacent to the caustic building, an additional powerpole may be necessary, which can be used with one or more
drop-lines to provide power to the E-Co buildings. Please refer to the attached Exhibit 49G drawings, depicting the
layout of the proposed buildings and associated piping, as well as the supporting text for construction details. Map
24 (sheet 3 of 3) also shows the general E-Co facility location.
Overland Belt Magnet (MR 02-179)
Twentymile will install a magnet over the overland belt to pick tramp metal from the coal stream prior to it entering
the primary crusher. The captured metal will drop from the magnet to a bin located underneath it for recycling or
disposal. The magnet is in a framework constructed over the belt, and a trolley system on the framework moves the
magnet in and out of position over the belt. The frame work is constructed of H-beam which is anchored to six
rebaz-reinforced concrete piers drilled to bedrock. The piers are two feet in diameter, extend from 6 to 9 feet into
bedrock and will extend three feet above grade. A concrete pad approximately 8 x 10 x 2 feet will be constructed
under the bin to facilitate removal. The framework and pad will be constructed in a previously distwbed azea.
• minim? and reclamation operations.
