Slopes are <br />15 to 40 percent. Sl.evation i9 7,000 to 9,000 feet. Pegetation is <br />pouglas fir, Ponderosa pine and sparse ut~derstory of graesea. <br />Precipitation is 18 to 22 inches, mean snnual air temperature i, 42 to <br />45'F, and the frost Erse season i.s 80 to 115 days. <br />Typically the aurtace is covered b7 a thin layer of partially <br />decomposed pine needlee. The surface later is graJ loam about 5 inches <br />thick. The subsoil is grayish brown or b='il7 clay loam Zading with <br />depth to pale brom or lifht brownish grail silty clay about 39 inches <br />thick. The substratum is 113hG broimish gray silty clay lam to <br />60 inches or more. The soil is median acid to neutral. <br />Perasahility is slow. iiatsr holding capacity is high. Rocts <br />readily penetrate all hcrizons. This soil is used for e~~E, <br />forest, and wildlife. <br /> <br />
