The purpose of <br />our review was to determine whether the site contains potential wetlands, or waists of the <br />U.S. The projoct propornent intends to kuate an aggregate mine and reservoir at the sire. <br />The results of our review are detailed below. <br />Site location <br />The subject property consists of approximately 138 acres located west of Wittenberg in <br />Weld Cormty, CO. Mote specifically the property is in the northwest 1/4 of Section 25, <br />Township 1 North, Range 67 West. County roads and the Town of Wittenberg generally <br />bound the site. <br />fortitude: 40° 1.52' North <br />Longitude: I04° 50.54' West <br />Exlating Conditf0~ <br />The site is located in the alluvial valley of the South Platte River but is located outside <br />the 100-ysar noodplain. The Brighton Ditch flows rwrch along the wesoem property <br />bowdary. An historic alluvial atsr is evident in the swnhcastem portion of the site. Tlu <br />notthtan portion of the site is etlrrenUy planted with traditional taw corps and is Flood <br />irrigated. The sordhwestem portiort of the sic; consists of an alfalfa (Medirngo sarrva) <br />field The stw[heastem portion of the site is not currently in crop production and has <br />been fallow for some Urce. <br />The majority of the site is vegetated with either row crops such as corn and beans, or <br />alfalfa. The southeastern portion of the site is vegetated with meoUy non-native plants <br />with some native plants. There are some relatively small arses of cottonwood (POpulus <br />deltoidu) Gees on~ite. Common vegetation on-site consists of alfalfa, western <br />whea[grass (Paseopynuu sstithir~, cheatgrass (Bronurs tectorum), sandbar willow (Silas <br />exigua), goosefoa (Chenopadium album), cotonwood (Popular deGoides), curly dock <br />2901 Tougrield $1RB1.
