Revised April, 1996
The revegetation objective for diversity will be to establish a community
on the reclaimed areas that contains the following;
a) At least four principle species including a minimum of three cool
season perennial grasses and a minimum of 1 perennial forb.
b) Each principle species shall contribute no less than 3~ relative
cover.
C) No single species shall contribute in excess of 50~ relative cover.
The four species will contribute to the structure and stability of the
postmining vegetative community to insure Chat the postmining land use as
addressed in Section 4.16, Post-mining Land Use, will be sustained.
The seed mixture in Section 2.05 on Table 7, Reclamation Seed Mixture,
contains the desired species to achieve the goal of species diversity in
the postmining area. The seed mixture contains 31 species of grasses,
forbs and shrubs capable of establishing a postmining vegetative community
of the same seasonal variety and lifeform as the premine area. The species
are adapted to the soils and moisture conditions to be encountered
throughout the post mining area and are capable of supporting the desired
postmining land use.
~' 4.15.9 Reveaetation Success Criteria: Cro lard
Colowyo does not plan to return any of the mined area for use as cropland;
therefore, .the requirements of this Subsection are not applicable to
Colowyo.
4.15.10 R vegetation Success Criteria: Previously Mined Areas:
Areas to be Developed for industrial or Residential Use
Colowyo does not plan to develop any areas to industrial or residential
use; therefore, the requirements of this Subsection are not applicable to
Colowyo.
4.15-20
