The Rrann F'it is located ~~ miles southeast of Lamar, olorado.
Access to the site is from F'rowers County Dsoad 16. fh pit is
surrounded by e;;isting rangeland.
The area i~~ generaliy a =_chortgrass rangeland with mi:;ed grasses
and (orbs. Wildlife species common to the shortgrass anyeland
could be e~pected to tie present on site. No spec es were
observed during a field review an hlarch 2, 1984.
Species of wildlife which could inhabit the site inr_lud Desert
cottontail, f='lairs harvest mouse, Western harvest mouse, h1usE?rat,
Coyote, Mr.rle deer, Red-tailed haw4::, Scaled quail, Common
nighthawL:, Western meadowlark:, bullsnaF;e and Prairie rat lesr~a4::e.

movements including passerines, raptors, small mammals, rodents,
and desert reptiles. No known threatened or endangers species
are known to inhabit the site.
