Upon abandonment of the sediment pond and removal of the embankment, the
area will be topsoiled as necessary and seeded with a cover crop and
either Seed Mix No. 1 or Seed Mix No. 2 as shown on Exhibit 13-7,
Postmining Vegetation Types Map - East Wadge Extension Area (see Pages
13-12 and 13-17 of Tab 13 for seed mixes). Trees and shrubs will not be
included since they did not occur at any significant level in these
wetter areas of the drainage bottom prior to disturbance. Because of
the relatively small affected area and the availability of undisturbed
wet meadow areas immediately adjacent to the site, reinvasion of sedges,
rushes, and fortis normally found in wetter areas should occur in several
years.
The areas of disturbance to be reclaimed in the remainder of the East
Wadge Extension Area are shown on Exhibit 13-7. The reclaimed drainage
bottom will be seeded with Seed Mix No. 2 (see Page 13-17) with a
selection of forb and shrub seed added from the supplemental list
following that mix. Seed Mix No. 1 (Page 13-12) will be used to seed
• all upland areas, with supplemental forb and shrub seed additions taken
from the list following Seed Mix No. 1. Three concentrated shrub
planting areas for uplands are shown on Exhibit 13-7. These areas will
be planted to species selected from Shrub and Tree Planting List No. 1
(Page 13-25) and at a combined rate of 300 seedlings/acre. Two areas of
aspen planting are also shown on Exhibit 13-7. These areas occur on
north-facing aspects adjacent to a drainage. The planting rate for the
two aspen areas will be 300 seedlings/acre.
Other sections of Tab 13 contained in the current Seneca "II permit
relating to rill and gully maintenance, reclamation monitoring, and
revegetation success will apply similarly to this area. The postmining
land use following reclamation will continue to be livestock grazing and
wildlife habitat.

13-6-2 Revised 05/16/88
