Endangered Species Impacted
None known .
' 7. Assessment of Mining Impact on 'rildlife
There will be very little negative impact on terrestrial wildlife with the
' proposed reclamation plan. The Division of Wildlife is conserned with impacts
on the trout fishery in the river, however. The effluent could have negative
impacts on the Brown and Rainbow trout fishery occurring in the Arkansas River
next to this operation. The silt load carried by this effluent should be
' minimized as much as possible.
' 8. Proposed Mitigation PAeasures, Including Declamation for Yildlife Habitat.
The proposed reclamation plan is adequate for wildlife. Waterfowl usage
of the south pond would probably be increased by planting a row of trees
' along one side of the dike between the two ponds. These trees would act as
visual screen and reduce the impact of mining or marine equipment testing
cn waterfowl using the south pond.

' Prepared by: Jack VayhinRer, Dwayne Finch Title: Wildlife Biol., IJ.C.O.
Date: October 20, 1977
' cc: R.
