by IZ-foot high wall will be constructed on the south side of the transfer building to protect it from material that <br />• comes off the rock belt. <br />Additional Culverts <br />Four additional cuh~erts are proposed for installation at TCC facilities to improve road drainage and to provide a <br />turn-around area for stoker trucks. One culvert will be installed north east of the warehouse, one cuh~ert will he <br />installed at the road crossing under the overland belt, and two culverts will be installed in the ditch on the east end <br />of [he parking lot area. <br />The culvert north east of the warehouse will be installed in the ditch at the intersection of the warehouse access <br />road and the road [o [he Foidel School House, approximately 30 feet east of the existing 8"-diameter culvert in [he <br />warehouse yard perimeter ditch. An 8"-diameter culvert will have adequate capacity to pass the 10-year 24-hour <br />rainfall event a[ this location. <br />The crossing in the road under the overland belt is typically very muddy during spring snow-melt. A culvert is <br />planned for installation in [his area ro improve drainage. An 13"-diameter cuh~ert will have adequate capacity to <br />pass the 10-year, 24-hour rainfall event at this location. <br />A turn-around location is planned for stoker trucks in the eastern end of the parking area. Currently, overloaded <br />stoker trucks must back off of [he scales inro a high traffic area to [urn around and off load. Two culverts are <br />planned for installation in the eastern end of the parking lo[ to prevent rutting of the ditch line. "fhe ditch line <br />collects drainage from half of the entry access/haulroad immediately adjacent to the ditch and a small portion of <br />the unused parking area. Two 40' long, 8"diameter culverts will be placed in ditch at the [urn-around location. <br />• Enuinment Storage Area Expansion <br />Additional storage area is required for storage of materials and equipment. TCC is planning to expand the storage <br />area west of the PM Bay and surface the area with gravel. The storage area will be expanded approximately 200' <br />to the TCC Shop Access Road. The area of expansion will be approximately 0.63 acres. The entire storage area <br />will be covered with pit run gravel to improve the surface conditions. <br />Topsoil in this area is either Routt Loam or Aaberg Silty Clay with a thickness Rom 24" to 32". Approximately <br />2200 cubic yards of topsoil will be salvaged from this area and stockpiled just west of dte storage area. The <br />topsoil stockpile will be seeded with an appropriate seed mixture to provide protection of the resource. <br />Reclamation of this area will occur when the area is no longer required for storage of materials or equipment and <br />will include regrading topsoil over the area and seeding the area with an appropriate seed mixture. <br />Stoker Pad LiQh[-Use Road <br />A light-use road is planned for construction to provide access to [he rail mad [racks below the stoker loadou[ pad. <br />The area requires occasional clean up of spilled coal product along the tracks and the bean around the stoker pad <br />area. The road will be approximately 20 feet wide and 80 feet in length. Adequate surfacing will be provided to <br />allow access to [he railroad tracks by a small loader. <br />Approximately 60 cubic yards of topsail will be windrowed adjacent ro the roadway. The topsoil windrow will be <br />seeded with an appropriate seed mixture to prevent erosion and loss of the resource. The light-use road will he <br />• removed when the stoker pad area is reclaimed. Topsoil will be redistributed over thz roadway and re-vegetated <br />with an appropnate seed nuxtt+re. <br />MR 97-I54 2.05-64 Revised 9/9/97 <br />
