-z- <br />Summary of the Review <br />• Process <br />Colowyo Coal Company has applied for partial bond release under the Colorado <br />Surface Coal 14ining and Reclamation Act for backfilling and grading work and <br />revegetation completed at the Colowyo Mine. The mine is located in Moffat <br />County, approximately 25 miles south of Craig, Colorado, in portions of <br />Sections 16, 20, 28, and 29, T3N, R93W. The operator has requested that Phase <br />I and II bond release be granted to areas reclaimed in 1978 - 1986. These <br />areas comprise 226,4 acres in Sections 2 and 3, T3N, R93W. <br />On June 2, 1987 the Division received a request for partial bond release for <br />backfilling and grading on 50 acres and Phase II on 176.4 acres of the areas <br />described above. This request was found to be complete on June 12, 1987, with <br />the submittal of additional information by the operator. Additional <br />information concerning Phase II bond release was submitted August 21,.1987. <br />On July 16, 1987 a site inspec*_ion was held in accordance with <br />Rule 3,03,2(1, Present were representatives of the Division, Colowyo Coat <br />Company, the Office of Surface Mining, and the Bureau of Land idanagement. <br /> <br /> <br />E28 <br />
