The text in <br />straight type is provided as guidance in the prepazarion of your SWbIP. (There aze only slight variations between <br />the Heavy and Light Industry SWbiP requirements.) <br />When preparing your plan, make sure to address each item. If it is not applicable to your site, briefly explain <br />why. A simple "Not Applicable" is not adequate. <br />The references (Part I.B.l.d, for example) correspond to the location of the item in the Heavy and Ligh[ Industry <br />general permits. <br />Note that the SWVIP should include any existing stormwater controls at your site, no[ just new or proposed ones. <br />Take fitll credit for what you aze already doing! <br />Once it is written, for the SWMP to be valid, it mast inc'.ude a certification of completion, signed by the legally <br />responsible pam (or his/her authorized representarive). The cemficadon lan~.tage is included on pave 11, Part <br />I.D.S.c of the Light Industy permit, and on page i i, Part I.F.3.c of the Heavy Industry permit. (The <br />certification language is also required with every formal submittal to the Division under the stormwater permit.) <br />..B. STOIi~IIWATEIZ -ilAtVAGE~YIENT PL.~V - CONTEiVTS :LVD REOUIRE~YIE~VTS <br />A SWMP shall be developed for each facility covered by this permit, and submitted to the Division. <br />SWiYIPs shall be prepared in accordance with good engineering practices. (The plan need not be completed <br />by a registered engineer.) <br />The plan shall identify potential sources of pollution which may reasonably be expected to affect the quality <br />of stormwater discharges associated with industrial activity from the facility. In addition, the plan shall <br />describe and ensure the implementation of practices which are to be used to reduce the pollutants in <br />stormwater discharges associated with industrial activity at the facility and to assure compliance with the <br />terms and conditions of this permit. <br />Facilities must implement the provisions of the SWiYTP required under this past as a condition of this <br />permit. The Division reserves the right to review those plans, and ro require additional measures to prevent <br />and control pollution as needed. <br />The SW.YIP shall include the following items, at a minimum: <br />I. Industrial Activity DescriRtion. The plan shall provide a narrative description of the industrial activity <br />tal<zng place at the site. <br />Describe the industrial activities which take place at the facility which may have an impact on stormwater. These <br />may include manufacturing processes, equipment washing, materials storage, product assembly or disassembly, <br />vehicle maintenance or fueling, incineration, power generation, waste treamment, storage or <br />
