Addi-iorral (tens Regarding Spring on Rienau Property
A permit application for water well signed by the surface owner, George Rienau is enclosed at
the end of this section. Included with this application is a plan and cross-section view of the
actual planned spring installation. The dimensions of the excavation can be seen from these
drawings. The State Engineers office recommended that a will application be used since this
would prevent the water from being "called' by more priority rights downstream.
Also enclosed is a letter from the surface owner, requesting the spring installation.
The water quality of the spring cannot be determined at this time due to the fact that the water is
unavailable. In the spring months, a wet seep exists but it is not enough to provide an accurate
sample. A sample of the water can be provided upon completion of the spring. Before the mine
was reclaimed, the spring flowed approximately 8 gallons per minute and there was no indication
that the water would be unsuitable for its intended use of watering cattle.
•
