Areas of different lengths <br />and slopes are separated out to more accurately calculate the <br />soil loss for each area. No undisturbed areas above the disturbed <br />areas are considered. Although these areas are not large, this <br />will result in a lower pre-mining soil loss estimate and a <br />tougher standard for reclamation.
