eh
ESPEY, HUSTON &ASSOCIATES, INC.
• specified for the steep slopes because in these azeas an immediate cover is desirable
to discourage erosion. Such cover should also enhance the establishment of
vegetation from the broadcast seed. The erosion control blanket will be well-
anchored with staples designed for this use.
In the facilities and sediment pond azeas, where slopes aze gentler than
2.Sh:lv, the prepared surface will be covered with clean straw at the rate of 3,000
lbs/acre which will be crimped into the surface. Following this mulching, the seed
mix specified below will be drilled on the contour at the rate of 23.5 lbs (P.L.S.) per
acre or broadcast at twice the drill rate. In the sediment pond azea, only the azea
above permanent water line will be seeded.
Along the haul road, the seed mix specified below for the haul road will
be drilled at the rate of 23.5 lbs (P.L.S.) per acre, using a drill of the same
specifications detailed immediately above. Mulch will be as in azeas discussed
above. The haul road from the State Highway south to the facilities azea will be
• reclaimed to the sagebrush vegetation type.
In the interception ditch, 5 lbs (P. L.S.) per acre of Reed Canary grass
(Phalazis azundinacea) has been sown by broadcast. This special seeding has been
done to stabilize the drainage channel. Rip rap has been placed in steep portions of
the ditch to reduce erosion.

M-6
~r
