Dear Mr. Von Bernuth:
We have drilled ten (10) test holes at the location referenced
above on March 12, 1997. The purpose of this investigation was
to determine the overburden depths and thicknesses of the sand
and gravel deposits.
The ten (10) borings indicate silty sand over sand and gravel
deposits over weathered claystone bedrock strata to the depths
explored. The silty sand overburden ranges in thickness from
three (3) feet to five and one-half (5'/~) feet with an average
thickness of 4.75 feet. The sands and gravels have some cobbles
and were encountered to depths ranging from seventeen (17) to
nineteen (19) feet with an average depth of 18.1 feet. The
average thickness of these deposits was 13.4 feet. The average
gravel to overburden ratio would be approximately 2.8:1 based on
the test hole data. Groundwater levels ranged from four and one-
half (4'/,) to seven (7) feet.
