Native Vegetation <br />Aspect of this site is a grassland, however, this becomes a <br />shrub-annual grass aspect with a decline in range condition. <br />Arizona - Idaho fescue, western wheatgrass, sedges, rushes, <br />and squirrel tail are dominant on the site. Other grasses <br />include muttongrass and other native bluegrasses, needle-and- <br />thread, Indian ricegrass, mountain mutely, Junegrass, blue <br />grama, slimstem, mutely, and threeawn. Forbs include phlox, <br />mat penstemon, buckwheat, pussytoes, yarrow, aster, daisy, <br />and geranium. Shrubs include fringed sage, winter fat, low <br />rabbitbrush, big sage, tall trabbitbrush, smooth horsebrush, <br />yucca, currant, shrubby potentilla. <br />Native Vegetation found at this site and the estimated species <br />composition are: <br />Fringe Sage 10% <br />Wire Grass(rush) 45% <br />June grass 5% <br />Mutely 25% <br />Bluegrass 5% <br />Fescue 5% <br />Western Yarrow T <br />Range condition at this site is poor. <br />Total Annual Production <br />Favorable years 1,000 pounds per acre air dry <br />Unfavorable years 600 " <br />Median years 800 " <br />Reclamation Plan <br />Reclamation at the Jefferson Pit will be to keep soil erosion <br />and sediments on the site.
