Uur prosinriry to t;te mute has caused several areas of wncern.
These include water quality, water quantity, noise impact, air quality impact, wildlife habitat protection and road
imput.
We have several alluvial welts within 500' of the proposed pit mine \\'e would like ro see a certified Hydrologiczl
Engineer's recommendation as to how best to preserve both the quality and quantity of water in our drinking and
stock wells We also otvn water rights (2(1 cfs) from Little Dry Creek and 3 springs The water quality and quantity
from these sources also needs to be preserved.
We are also highly concerned a[ how the lowering of the ground water level will affect our sub-irtigated pastures,
hayfields, trees and wildlife habitat.
The proposed plan shows su and sound abatement being addressed by butlding berms on the South and East sides of
the mine. We live North and West of the site. How do they propose to address the Noise and Dust in our direction?
We also need stated (in writing!) that they will NOT pursue use of our property for egress, degress, maintenance,
service, conshuction, utility or any other reason as we have witnessed et other pit mines in our area.
We are also concemed about where the planned entranceJerdt of the site is. The old wooden bridge on WCR 1 S is
certainly not up to this type of heavy traffic.
Sincerely.
Robert and Janet Airhart
-,
~~ ~
61--t~"1 ~~ / J
1.
