Until the following information is provided, we
cannot recommend approval of the application:
1, The applicant has failed to provide sufficient information
to support the statement on Exhibit G that "loss of water
due to evaporation from the lake surface will be approxi-
mately equal to the phreatophyte evapotranspiration currently
occurring from the existing vegetative cover", The type and
amount of plant cover within the mining area must be pro-
vided along with computations to support the statement as is
done by other professionals.
2. No evaluation was made of the impact of the dewatering of
the gravel pit on surrounding ditches and the Colorado River.
3, The applicant does not indicate whether water will be required
for dust control or gravel washing. Lf water will be required
for these purposes, we recommend that the Board be provided
with additional information wncerning the source and amount
of water required.
~~ ~
Hal D.
