• ~`.05.~2)fc) B,T ackfilling and GradinE (continued)
Mine yard area
The mine yard area was reclaimed to the approximate original contour in 1992 although
its final elevation was approximately 5 to 8 feet higher than the pre-mining elevation.
At the request of the landowner (see pages 187.1 a-b), the building and access road are
to remain after reclamation for storage of ranch equipment, etc.
Once Phase 2 bond release is granted, the following items will be undertaken in [he
yard area:
1) The sediment pond dam will be dozed down to the level of the bottom of the
emergency.spillway. All dozed material will be placed in the adjacent pond to fill it to
the level of the bottom of the spillway. The available material from the dam is
approximately 2.3 feet depth x 11.0 fee[ width x 160 feet length = 4048 cu.ft. or 149
cubic yards. A small D-4 type dozer will be used [o complete the work.
2) TopSOil from the existing access road and swing out area in front of the building
door will be•excavated and placed on top of the backfilled pond area. The excavated
material will be 0.5 feet x .15 acres = 3267 cubic feet or 121 cubic yards. This can also
be done with a small dozer since the access road is adjacent to the pond.
~• 3) The'east berm will be excavated to the same level as the existing field. This material
is very gravelly and will make good roadbase, therefore, it will be placed on the access
road to. replace the topsoil that was excavated. The current berm is approximately 14
feet wide and averages 1.6 feet high. The approximate volume is 1.6 ft x 14 ft x 210 ft.
= 47Q4 cubic feet or 174 cubic yards. A small 5 to 10 yard truck and small loader must
`b'e used to load and place this material. The 174 cy is slightly greater than the 121 cy
of topsoil removed from .the road, therefore, any excess,.will be used to raise the road
with a slight crown in the center which is better for future road runoff handling and
maintenance.
4) The areas of the berm, sediment pond and upper part of the dam will be re-seeded
according to the approved plan. This total area is approximately 0.24 acres for the pond
and dam, 0.07 acres for the east berm. The west berm has been contoured to blend into
the terrain and will not be re-disturbed.
All of these items are shown on the Final Contour Mao which is enclosed following
this page
183
.~
Revised 3/21/01
r~~
