The proposed lend use is compatible with surrounding lend use.
It is the County's responsibility to insure operations within the County
are in conplinnce with the County's land use plans end we do not intend
to abrogate any of that authority or responsibility to the Division of
Minerals and Geology.
2. The proposed final use of the mined Brea will be to store
equipment and materials used by the Road and Bridge Department. The
area is located in an agricultural area and has several large farms near
it. The headcuarters of a large farm operation is directly southwest of
the affected land. This area has storage buildings, shop buildings,
equipment storage areas, and material storage areas associated with
their farm operation. The use of the land as a storage area will be
consistent with other operations in the area.
6. Topsoil stockpiles that remain in a pile for more than one
growing season will be seeded with a cover crop such as crested
wheatgrass to protect the pile.
7. The pit will be a dry pit. If any change in this condition
develops in the future we will amend the permit to reflect such change.
8. Any water used at the pit will be hauled to the site fron an
approved water source such as the Town of Saguache.
