FROM OakCreekPublicLibrary • PHONE N0. 1+970+736+8371 •
EXHIBIT D
Mine Plan
Nov. 09 1998 05:29PM P3
14. Natural Gas Pipeline Monitoring_ T'he Applicant is proposing to mine closer than 200 feet to
the natwal gas pipeline which bisects the proposed mine azea. Geoteehtricial testing
commissioned by the Applicant has documented that cut slopes should not encroach closer than
S feet to edge of the current 50 foot natural gas pipeline easement. This means that no mining
will occur within 30 feet oa either side of the center line of the current easement as defined by a
survey which will locate the existing easement and establish the five foot off-set from this
easement which will be performed prior to any mining operations occurring at this site.
A suitable strain gauge identified by PSCo will be purchased by the Applicant and installed at
one location on each of the two pipelines which cross this property. These strain gauges will be
installed on the pipelines by PSCo and monitored by them on a quarterly basis. The Applicant
furthermore commits to maintain the norma1200 foot structure setback outlined in the DMG
regulations and will not conduct any mining operations within this 200 foot setback azea until the
strain gauges are installed and the initial readings taken and submitted to the DMG. The
monitoring information obtained from these two strain gauges will be submitted to the DMG on
a yearly basis in their Atrrma] Report. l-Iowever, in the event that unacceptable strains are
detected by the gauges as defined by PSCo, then the results from these readings will be
submitted to the DMG within 24 hours a$er the Applicant has knowledge of these potential
exceedances.
