~~
A free water table was found over much of the si
particularly close to the Greek. It waa noted that no free water was
found close to the surface of the ground in the area proposed for
land fill. Free water was found in Teat Boring No. 3 at a depth of
ld~•ft, and in Test Boring No. d.at a depth of 5 ft. Teat Borings
1,2, and 9 were dry. The free water table appears to be connected sit.
~ the underflow of Brackett Creelc, ~dhich is a part of the Black Squirrel
Creek system. The lower portion of the area near Brackett Creek
showed a free water table almost uniformly over the area an8 parrsll
to the creek. The movoment of this free water waa rather generally

toward the southeast along the creek flow line.
The Black Squirrel Creek is an excellent aquiLar
and supplies many ranches and homesitoe, both above and below this

particular sit®. It is known to be a relatively shallow aquiler.
The water flows rather generally through the gravel bed of the stream,
flowing over the underlying clays of tho Laramie Formation in this are.

and the Fox Hills and Pierre Shale Fornationa further south. Recorded
production of some wells in the Black Squirrel Creek myatem and its

~ tributaries shows pumped capacities of 100 to 150 gal/ min. Most
wall production for residential use in the area is restricted to 1S
'~~ gal/min. due to the State law cm this subject. The transmissibility
i
an8 rocharge of tho system is excellent.
Several walla are known to exist in the area. one
,~ well near the east line of the SW quarter has produced water !os a
'~ coaaiderable length of time in rather small quantities.
