Song- Mule deer
Endangered Species Impacted: birds
None that are known.
Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: Gravel pit operations will physically destroy
• riparian habitat and cause listed wildlife to leave the immediate area. Most
species should adjust and return to utilize peripheral habitat not ph,psically
damaged by the operation.
Mine Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) All possible topsoil
should be replaced as the area is reclaimed so that natural riparian vegetation can
reclaim the area. Any islands damaged that were formally in the rive^ channel
should be reconstructed. With the cooperation of the Division of Wildlife, a
series of ponds may be constructed on the northern portion of the affected lands.
Such ponds would possibly require specific seed plantings. With the exception of
any ponds to be constructed, the area should be returned to as near the natural
appearance as possible.
. Prepared by George H.
