I•

that they would be affected since any wells would basically draw from alluvial water from Cedaz
Creek or deeper aquifers, which cannot be affected by the operation.
3. Water Consumption for the Operation and Water RiLLts
The 4-6 week crushing/screening operation will be conducted on a dry basis, given the low
production from the site. The subcontractor doing this activity will have enclosed equipment and the
plant will have its own air emissions permit.
During times when the road is being used heavily and the surface is very dry, the road will either be
treated with an application of magnesium chloride or a water truck will be used to keep dust down.
Potable water will also be brought in for drinking on site. Any water needed for the asphalt plant will
either be used from the East Drainage, Ellison Gulch or will be purchased and brought to the site.
The landowner has rights to use water from the East Drainage and Ellison Gulch and has allowed the
operator to use this water for the operation as well as irrigation after final reclamation. Appendix A
contains a letter from the landowner allowing this use of the water.
The following table shows the estimated amount and uses for water in this operation. The flow rates
in the second column aze based on estimated operation periods of the crushing/screening plant, the
asphalt plant and the concrete plant.
BellgazdtPit I/06
33
