Mining Timetable <br />I • <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />The following timetable is a best estimate of the sequence of operations for the life of the mine after <br />December of 2005 and is based on mining and selling 55,000 tons of total product per year (this is <br />less than the permit maximum rate of 65,000 tons/yr but is an expected average): <br />Task Description Time Needed <br /># months <br />1 Construct Sediment Trap to the southwest of Strip 2. Install Collection 0.5 <br /> Ditch #1 leading to it. <br />2 Mine Strip 2. (2.60 acres) after moving excavated topsoil to stockpile. 24 <br /> Use overburden to backfill 1.7 acres of older exposed flat azea that <br /> was mined out previously. <br />3 Strip soil and overburden from Strip 3 (4.47 acres). Place topsoil in 1 <br /> stockpile. <br />4 Mine Strip 3. (4.47 acres) Move excavated topsoil to stockpile. Use 61 <br /> overburden to backfill 1.0 acres of older flat azea and place the <br /> remaining overburden in the stockpile. <br />5 Move facilities closer to mining azea immediately east of Strips 3. 1 <br />6 Strip soil from Strip 4 and place on south facing slopes of Strip 3. 1 <br /> Move overburden from Strip 4 (3.50 acres) and place in 3.5 acres of <br /> final graded area of Strip 3. <br />7 Mine Strip 4 (3.50 acres). Remove portable facilities. 37 <br />8 Using overburden from stockpile, backfill remaining portions of flat 1 <br /> aeeas of facilities azea and Strip 4. <br />9 Regrade sediment ponds, ditches, stockpile areas and sediment trap. 0.5 <br /> Total months 127 <br />The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming aeeas as additional mining is <br />• undertaken.
