T is <br />information and documentation of contact with the appropriate <br />RESPONSE: <br />Peerless Resources, Inc, has contacted Mr. Scott Peterson of the <br />Colorado Natural Areas Program in order to determine the potential to <br />find any rare and .endangered plant species within the permit and <br />adjacent areas. A copy of this letter is attached as Figure 2A, Letter <br />from Peerless Resources to Mr. Scott Peterson, Colorado Natural Areas <br />Program. Upon receipt of response from Mr. Peterson, a copy will be <br />forwarded to the Division of his findings. <br />It is anticipated that there will be no problem regarding rare and <br />endangered plant species within the permit area because of the past mine <br />disturbance and the fact that so many similar vegetative communities are <br />found in the general area. <br />Fish and Wildlife Information - Rule 2.04.11 <br />1. The applicant has not provided the documentation in Exhibit 14 as <br />Sion <br />s <br />vision. <br />RESPONSE: <br />On Monday, July 30, 1984, in Durango, Colorado, Mr. Alan Czarnowsky of <br />ACZ INC. (working for Peerless Resources, Inc.) met with Mr. Mike <br />Zgainer, Area Wildlife Supervisor for the Colorado Division of Wildlife. <br />A wide range of wildlife issues regarding the planned mining at the Coal <br />Gulch Mine. The issues and subsequent discussions are set forth below. <br />(1) Light Use Road Above Surface Facilities Area <br />The light use road shown on the Mine Facilities Map (Map 12) <br />is utilized by the Colorado Division of Wildlife to gain <br />access into State lands located to the northwest of the <br />. planned Coal Gulch operation. Likewise, this road provides <br />access for hunters into these State controlled areas. Mr. <br />-35- <br />
