The prevailing winds over the permit area will be from the southwest at
• an average speed of approximately five (5) to ten (10) miles per hour.
Strong winds will occur due to cold fronts and thunderstorms moving
through the area and may exceed 20 to 25 miles per hour.
Soils Resource Information - Rule 2.04.9
1. Recommen e
RESPONSE:
March 1985, Peerless Resources, Inc. obtained three (3) samples at
locations around the Coal Gulch Mine. The sample locations are shown on
the revised Mine Facilities Map (Map 12). These samples were taken in
order to describe potential suitability of material as topsoil
substitute suitable for plant growth medium. The results of these
analyses are set forth in Table 5A, Plant Growth Medium Samples.
Overall, the samples indicate the general suitability of the soil
material for plant growth medium. Peerless Resources, Inc. will utilize
this material for soil material following mining activities. It is
estimated from the soil stockpiles shown on the Mine Facilities Map (Map
12) that there is sufficient soil material to spread approximately 6-12
inches over the affected area.
-31-
