47 <br />• <br />APPENDIX D <br />REVEGETATION PLOT LAYOUT <br />An area 300 feet square, located in the SW quarter of <br />Section 36, T.3N „ R.64W „ was fenced to exclude livestock <br />and mowed to mulch the sand sage in preparation for revege- <br />tation trials. This is a Deep Sand Range Site with sand <br />sage providing the dominant aspect and prairie sandreed, <br />western wheatgrass, blue grams, Indian ricegrass, and <br />needle-and-thread providing primary forage. The soil <br />series on the experimental area is the Valent. The deep <br />~~ sand was derived from wind action in the past. Consequently, <br />i <br />prompt stabilization and revegetation must follow any dis- <br />I. turbance. <br /> <br /> <br />r~~ <br />
