Stockpiles not on the perimeter of
the permit area will generally be left in place (see Exhibit D), with backfilling and
placement of topsoil above the water level on top of the stockpiled material.
The access road will be left in place during reclamation as a permanent post-mining
feature and used for access to the lower ponds and nearby areas together with trails.
As material is available, a portion of Stockpiles S3 and S4 may be left as a permanent
berm (with a reduced height and slope) on the south and southeast edges of the permit
area as part of the landscaping around the ponds.
CONTOURS AFTER RECLAMATION
Final contours of the reclaimed area (above the water level of the ponds) will vary from
the original elevations around the permit boundary to as much as fifteen feet below the
original elevations (pre-mining) where necessary to provide adequate drainage patterns
and shores for the ponds. It is not anticipated that there will be any areas above the
water level of the ponds, where the maximum post-reclamation slope of 1V:3H is
exceeded to match original or existing slopes.
Map F-2 in Exhibit F show planned, approximate contours and pond water surtace
elevations after mining and reclamation. Water level in the ponds will be controlled by
use of inlet controls on each pond (drop-inlet pipe spillway on shore of pond), with
discharge into a lower pond and ultimately into the pre-existing drainage pipe to the
Dolores River.
CONFORMANCE WITH LAND USE PLANNING
We believe that the proposed post-mining use conforms to present and planned land
use for the area.
Four States Aggregates, LLC 30 DEC 2000
Application for Permit: Line Camp Pit FSA-LCP-D1-001
