Highway 67. It is ad- <br />Jacent to the KOA Campground <br />underconstructlon. <br />Resident Ernie Snare Issued <br />one complaint to the county <br />planners office about the In- <br />creased noise and dust that <br />would result from the mining <br />operations. <br />Company spokesmen sold <br />the dust will be controlled by <br />watering the gravel roads, and <br />the mining operations will be <br />during the daylight, 5 1/2 <br />days per week. <br />In other county news: <br />'The commissioners ap- <br />proved an expansion oC a <br />commercial parking lot three <br />mtles north of Cripple Creek <br />near the intersection of High- <br />way 67 and Four MUe Road. <br />RNK Holdings wW operate <br />Ute pazking lot, where a maxi- <br />mum of 300 vehicles can park. <br />RNK Holdings previously had <br />rettlved approval from the <br />county commissioners for a <br />smaller pazking lot and a <br />campground. <br />County Planner Kip Petersen <br />sold there are approximately <br />1,100 parking spaces 1n com- <br />mercial lots Jn the county sur- <br />rounding Cripple Creek. <br />'The commissioners en- <br />dorsed the ilndings of the Re- <br />glopal Planning Commission, <br />which said Pre protection, af- <br />fordable housing and economi- <br />cal and recreational benefits <br />are top prtorlUes for the Crtp- <br />ple Creek area. <br />'Ihe RPC's urgent action plan <br />was funded by a $75,000 state <br />grant. The Items In the RPC's <br />report already have been ad- <br />dressed by other govemmental <br />agencies. <br />'The commissioners deeded <br />two acres north of Dlvlde to <br />the Divide/Flortssant Fire <br />Protection District to build a <br />firehouse. <br />'The commissioners will ex- <br />plore the posslb111ty of hiring <br />someone on a con tract basis to <br />complete personal recog- <br />nizantt bond reports on Teller <br />County prisoners, who are <br />being housed in Colorado <br />Springs 1n EI Paso Counts <br />Jails. <br />Teller County Judge Jackson <br />Peters sold this process wDl, in <br />the long run, save Teller <br />County money because there <br />wW be (ewer Teller County <br />prisoners in El Paso County's <br />Jails. Peters said many Teller <br />County prisoners most likely <br />would be eligible for PR bonds <br />and consequently wouldn't <br />need to remain behind bars. <br />Teller County is charged a <br />Dat fee for up l0 10 prisoners. <br />There is an addUlonal charge U <br />there are more than 10 Teller <br />County prisoners In EI Paso <br />County's Jails.
