• ~nks and Gesso, LLC
Introduction
The following materials represent an application to the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board for a Regular 112 Permit by the Adams County RV Park,
LLC, dba the 124`h Estates Partners. The Applicant intends to recover
approximately 500,000 yards of residual sand and gravel from a 34 acre, historic
mining pit, located immediately west of U.S Highway 85, south of 124`h Avenue,
and east of the Fulton Ditch, in the southern one half of Section 35, Township 1
South, and Range 67 West of the 6`h PM.
The area of the historic mine will not be increased by the proposed mining
activity; however, residual sand and gravel will be excavated down to claystone
bedrock. Mining and reclamation activity is expected to last for two and one half
years, with the fully excavated mine to be reclaimed for water storage, utilizing
bedrock and a clay liner to isolate the reservoir from surrounding groundwater.
The water storage facility will have an estimated capacity of 1,000 acre feet.
Proceeding concurrently with this application for a Regular 112 Permit is the
process of annexation of the area proposed for permitting from unincorporated
Adams County by the City of Brighton, which will ultimately purchase the water
storage facility from the Applicant.
124 Estates -Regular 112 Application 01029.WD
124'" Estates Partners ~ August 2001
