CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL <br />LIMITED IMPACT (110) OPERATION <br />RECLAMATION PERMIT PACKAGE <br />T-BONE STONE (APPLICANT) <br />EXHIBIT C- MINING PLAN (6.3.3) (REV'D. 6/5/04) <br />(1) [a] Quarry operations will commence at the time of permit approval. Quarry <br />operations aze expected to last a minimum of 50 years. The proposed <br />operations aze expected to be continuous. but it is not anticipated that <br />more than 7-8 acres of the permitted quarry area will be disturbed at any <br />one time. Tn approximately 30 years, reclamation of the original 6-7 acre <br />quanv area will begin to occur as the remaining 3 acres aze developed in <br />order to maintain the 7-8 acre "disturbed azea" footprint. It should be <br />noted that the Reclamation calculations (See Exhibit D) aze based upon <br />disturbance of the entire 9.9-acre Hermit area. so an additional mazgin is <br />built into the reclamation bond calculation. The intermittent operations <br />rule does not apply. <br />(1) [b] The material located in the first 0 to 24 inches of depth is very stony <br />loamy fine sand, as described in the Non-Technical Soil Description (Soil <br />Survey Area C0643), as provided by the Soil Conservation Service (see <br />Exhibit B ), the amount of "topsoil" is neeli ig ble (4 inches on average per <br />acre = 538c.v./acre). This material is primarily rock and does not require <br />stabilization and will only support limited vegetative cover. The material <br />is used as backlill for quarry operntions and will be applied to the azea <br />continuously during operations and for reclamation. <br />(1) [c] The amount of waste rock and overburden is expected to vary in depth <br />from Oft. to 2 ft. to reach the desired rock deposits Oft. and 2 ft. (1 foot on <br />average per acre = 1,613c.y./acrel. Waste rock, overburden and top soil <br />will be stored within the permitted area. (see Exhibit E ) <br />(1) [dJ Subsurface conditions aze not known at this time, but the conditions <br />found in neighboring quarries indicate the depth of the existing sandstone <br />de o its may meet or exceed 100 feet. Th~roposed quarrywill not, at <br />its deepest point in the middle of the TBS 1, exceed 50 feet. and in TBS <br />2, the deepest Quint will not exceed 40 feet. <br />(1) [e] The major components of the proposed operations consist of: quarry <br />excavation in and product (stone) transportation from TBS #1 and TBS <br />#2 using existing roads, rock re-sizing (using a stone cutting machine) to <br />suit construction material requirements, and stone inventory storage.
