Steamboat North Concrete Plant
GL 851
SPCC Plan
ATTACHMENT E
INTEGRITY TESTING WORKSHEET ATTACHMENTS
Lafarge will perform integrity testing on oil containing Aboveground Storage Tanks
(ASTs). The tests will be performed on a regular schedule and whenever material repairs
are made. This testing will use one of the following testing methods such as hydrostatic,
radiographic, ultrasonic, acoustic emissions, or another system ofnon-destructive shell
testing.
Lafarge will perform ultrasonic shell testing as the method used for testing the ASTs
integrity. Lafarge will likely use an A&D Company's Ultrasonic Thickness Gage (AD-
3253) or an equivalent ultrasonic device. The instruction manual for any ultrasonic
thickness gage should be reviewed before performing an integrity test. The testing will
be performed on a regular schedule that will be based upon the condition and age of the
each AST. An integrity test worksheet is attached in this attachment to be copied and
used by competent personnel. This worksheet record should be kept with this plan for 3
years.
During the integrity testing, each AST will be separated into three zones labeled A, B,
and C. The zones will run horizontally across the tank, with zones A being at the top and
zones C being at the bottom. Each of the horizontal zones will have a minimum of 14
points of measurement, or shots, taken around the tank. A minimum of six shots will be
taken along the length of the tank on one side, while a minimum of six shots will be taken
on the opposite side. A minimum of one shot will be taken from each end of the tank.
Additional shots maybe taken where necessary. Please refer to the attached worksheet
form for an example of the shots' locations.
24
