iii iiiiiiiiiiiii iii
January 12, 1977
TKr. Top Ledbetter
DPC Ceramics, Inc.
515 South Ninth Street
P. 0. Bor. 110
Canon Citq, Colorado 81212
&E; Clay Operation - Jefferson County
Our File No. HB-76-7
Dear Mr. Ledbetter:
We have received the new applieatioa materials for your clay operation.
Your maps need to be changed to reflect nine acres of affected li:nd.
This can be done ort the nape submitted earlier.
We called Hr. Beaaetts end met him on the Bite January 7, 1977, t:o
sea Lhe nature of the area and the problems you encounter in rec].fma-
tion. We agree that the 70o sandstone faces would be inpracticel. to
cover and vegetate and feel that they could remain as ie. Tha bEmch
areas, however, could benefit from soma grading to remove the wants
pi Les and ridges, and could be revegetatad. The natural vegetation
has encroached in some areas even with the lack of topsoil and i.t is
our opinion that vegetation would grow an these bench areas.
You need to reconsider your commertte in paragraph 2-g o! your applica-
tion, and devise •ome type of a reclamation plan. Tba area would not
be unusable after your mining opesation is completed since it is possible
to revegetate the erase lying east of the •aadetona faces.
Be certain in your readdress of Section 116 that you cover every sub-
section. If your operation is not applicable to nay particular item,
such ae 116-1-C, Earth Demo, a simple statement to that effect is all
that is wcesaary.
In addition to the reclamation information we need a letter from .Teffer-
eon County or the City of Golden, which ever hoe ~uriedictioa of the
area, stating that the operation is in conformance with local lawn.
