Additionally, we reviewed the general and engineering geology and <br />hydrogeology of the site as found in the available literature and our files. <br />The various geotechnical, geological and subsurface investigations demonstrate to a <br />reasonable degree that the site is well suited for the proposed use as an off-stream storage <br />facility. The basic geologic setting, ashale-bottomed plunging syncline, represents an almost <br />ideal environment from a foundation and hydrologic properties perspective. <br />The general nature of tite site and the iden[ification of the minor considerations associated <br />with the quarry impacts on the size of the dam and storage volume of the pool do not reveal <br />any obvious contraindications related to the multiple sequential use proposed for this site. <br />The anticipation that sufficient quantities of acceptable construction materials are available <br />on site or within reasonable distance is well founded <br />
