ovember 1, 1977
Kenneth A. Baker, P.C.
P.O. Box 1083
Salida, CO 81201
Dear Pfr. Baker:
STATE OF CO.')RADO nu'nnnp p.~ r•^i• nr~
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
Hams D. Sherman. Executive Director
D71NED LAND RECLAAIA'1'lON
723 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 892-3567
C. C. McCall,
Administrator
iii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
999
I received your letter today along with the signed consent agreement between
the tfined Land Reclamation Board and Hart Fox Redi Atix 5 Concrete, Inc. I
can sympathize with your bonding problem but am unable to offer much in the
way of practical advice. I have enclosed a list of bonding companies tahich
may be of some help.
Although Bart Rox, Inc. is technically not within the law until a bond comes
in, as a practical matter, you needn't fear reprisal from our Board. ]t
rob bl s estimate Tat there are more than 2400 mining operations in
the state of Colorado. Our office has files on only 400 or so--Hart Rox, Inc.
included. In view of these figures, it would certainly seem inappropriate
for t1Te Board to reprove an operator taorking in good faith to comply with
the law while much of the industry continues to ignore it.
Good luck in your quest for surety. If I can be of any further help, please
don't Hesitate to ask. I am the new Reclamation Specialist for Chaffee
County.
Sincerely,
Thomas A.
