FACILITY DESCRIPTION <br />A. /rtduslry Description <br />Tvne of Irrdu.strv: The facility is a small underground cool mine located south of Florence, CO. The mined coal is <br />processed irr nrr ors-site prepnrntion plant prior ro shipment. Current production is 320,000 tons per year. <br />Mruimurn prorluctiorr is 500,000 torts per year. <br />2. Sources to the Trenmrenr Plant: Surface runoff flows to ponds I, 4, 5 and 3 (ou falls 001, 002, 004 nm/ 005, <br />respectively). /n addition, wnrer used in the prepnrntion plant may spill over inro ditches lending to pond 5 and <br />combine with surface rmroff. Well wnrer is stored in pond 3 until needed as make-up water for the prep plant. <br />3. Chemicals U.red: The permirree did not specify arty chemicals for use irr waters that may be discharged. Orr this <br />basis, rro chemirnls are approved under this permit. Prior to uce of any applicable chemical, the perninee must <br />submit rt request for approval which includes the most current Material Sajery Dntn Sheet (MSDSJ with anrrntic <br />tozicirv information for that chemical. Until approved, use of any chemical in waters that nmy he discharged is rr <br />violation of this permit. <br /> <br />
