Also included is about 5 percent granitQ or gneiss Rick outcrop. The surface of bedrock is genezally just slightly exposed. Tt~e Troutdale soil is moderately deep and well drained. It formed in alluvi~an over residuum derived dominantly from schist and gneiss. Slope .is 2 to 15 percent. Typically, the surface layer is dark grayish brown loam about i .inches thick. The subsoil is sandy clay loam about 15 inches thick. Soft, weathered schist is at a depth of 22 inches. The soil is neutral to a depth of 14 inches and mildly alkaline below that depth.
