<br />VEGETATION <br />Range condition at present is.fair with approximately <br />20% ground cover .producing 300 pounds of air-dried <br />vegetation per acre. The present species composition <br />by weight is 70% Blue Grama, 10% Rabbit brush, 10% Ring <br />Muhly, 5%.Kochia, and a trace of Sand Dropseed, Bottle- <br />brush Squirrel tail, and Prickly Pear. <br />The present vegetation and soils types have already been <br />described. The estimated average annual production at <br />present is 300 pounds air dry per acre. A maximum 50% <br />use would make available 150 pounds per acre, for a <br />total of 1500 pounds air dry per year for the entire <br />10 acre area. Using 1000 pounds as the basis for an <br />Animal Unit Month, there is 1.5 A.U.M. available per year <br />on the entire area. <br />Potential production on the Derrick _s oil is 700 lb/Ac. in <br />favorable years, 500 lb/Ac. in normal_years, and 300 lb/Ac. <br />in unfavorable years. Potential production on the Graypoint <br />soil is .800 lb/Ac. in favorable years, 550 lb/Ac. in normal <br />years= and 300 lb/Ac. in unfavorable years. All weights <br />are air dry. <br />
