I will respond to your comments in the same order in which you presented
them.
1) In the Special Use Application information presented to Eagle County, [he applicant
indicated that two seed mixes would be used in the reclamation for the project. For the side
slopes of the pit, a native seed mix dominated by native plants, but also including some
agricultural species, has been proposed. The components of both of these seed mixtures
are given in the attached Exhibit A.
The applicant does commit to seeding any topsoil stockpiles left in place for longer than
one growing season, and will use one of the seed mixes contained in Exhibit A.
2) ~ A revised copy of Exhibit D, Mining Plan is attached to this letter containing the
statement requested.
3) The project engineer, High Country Engineering of Glenwood Springs, has completed the
calculations necessary to determine the proper channel sizes in each phase. As you will
notice from this attached information, the drainage channels will become a permanent
feature of the site, with the reclaimed version being slightly smaller in size than the ones
in use during the mining operations.
4) The geotechnical stability study provided in Exhibit S of the initial permit application
was prepazed by Hepworth-Pawlak Geotechnical of Glenwood Springs.
