Banks and Gesso, LLC
Exhibit G -Water Information
Surface Water
There are no surface water features on the property within the permit boundary. The
Arkansas River is the southern boundary of the permitted property, and in order to
protect the river and adjacent riparian vegetation, no disturbance will occur within 300
feet of the north bank of the river.
The Excelsior Ditch (irrigation ditch) flows from west to east approximately 3,300 feet
north of the northernmost permit boundary. The proposed operation will not affect this
ditch in any way.
Chico Creek, a small ephemeral drainage, flows south to the Arkansas River
approximately 4,400 feet east of the easternmost property line. The proposed operation
will not affect this drainageway
There is a U.S. Geological Survey gaging station on the Arkansas River 15 feet
downstream of the Nyberg Road bridge on the south bank of the river (see Exhibit C-1
for gage location). The proposed water discharge point for this project is located
downstream of and will therefore not impact the gaging station.
The 100-year floodplain of the Arkansas River covers most of the property (see Exhibit
C-2 for the floodplain location). A Flood Hazard Development Permit will be obtained
from Pueblo County to mitigate the potential impacts of flooding on and off the property
Ground Water
The major ground water aquifer on and around the property is the alluvial aquifer of the
Arkansas River. Boreholes drilled on the property show ground water at 7 to 11 feet
below ground surface. Ground water flows to the south-southeast.
There are no ground water wells on the property. The current landowners own two
irrigation wells just north and within 30 feet of the north property line (see Exhibit C-1 for
well locations) for which they have an access easement with the landowner (C.R.
Evans). These wells currently supply two pivot irrigation systems on the property.
St. Barbara Sand and Gravel Mine 03028
Trans Colorado Concrete tg February 19, 2004
