1.2.2 Permits and Licenses <br />Sections 1.2.2.1 and 1.2.2.2 present the permits and licenses required for coal mining and reGamation <br />operations far Trapper Mining Inc. and affiliate mines. <br />1.2.2.1 Traooer Mine <br />Field operations for Trapper Mine commenced in 1978. Trapper operated under a life of mine devel- <br />opment and e~dreclion permit (No. 7&11A/C) approved by the Colorado Mined Land ReGamation Board <br />and an approved mine plan filed with the U.S. Geological Survey in 1976. In December, 1982, the <br />Colorado Mined Land ReGamation Board approved a new mining and reGamation permit, G81-010 for <br />Trapper's operations. On April 25, 1983, the Assistant Secretary for Energy and Minerals approved <br />Trapper's mining and reclamation plan and the Federal Office of Surface Mining issued permR CO-0013 <br />authorizing Trapper's mining and reclamation activities on federal coal leases C-07518 and C-25948 for <br />a period of five years. On December 31, 1987, Trapper's permit to mine coal was renewed with the <br />Colorado Mined Land ReGamation Division through December 31, 1992. Trapper's permit was again <br />renewed by the Division, January 19, 1993.
