<br />EXHIBIT J -VEGETATION INFORMATION <br />This information follows the requirements as outlined in Section 6.4.10. <br />1. Describe the following: <br />(a) present vegetation types, which include quantitative estimates of cover and height for <br />the principle species in each life-form represented (i.e., trees, tall shrubs, low shrubs, <br />grasses,forbs) <br />This property is currently tnanaged to produce corn, beets and hay. There aze narrow <br />strips of native grasses and forbs adjacent to the existing irrigatlon ditches. <br />(b) the relationship of present vegetation types to soil types, or alternatively this <br />information may be presented on a map; <br />A copy of the USGS Soil Conservation District map is attached. This site has been <br />managed as irrigated crop land to produce com, beets and hay. <br />(c) estimates of average annual production for hay meadows and croplands, and carrying <br />capacity for range lands on or in the vicinity of the affected land, if the choice of <br />reclamation is for range or agriculture. <br />The reclaimed portion of this property will not be utilized for crop production in the future. <br />(d) The Applicant shall show the relation of the types of vegetation to existing topography <br />on a map in Exhibit C. <br />The mitring azea is currently managed for production of corn, beets and hay. The <br />topography is flat and slopes slightly to the northeast. Existing irrigation ditches and <br />laterals distribute water over the entire azea to be mined.
