None of the proposed diversions will drain into the underground
• operation.
4.05.4 Stream Channel Diversions (Relocation of Streams)
Peerless resources will and has relocated the Goal Gulch.
All Discussions are related to ditch no.1 in exhibit #13•
4.05.5 Sediment Control Measures
Sediment control measures to be implemented are shown on the Mine
Facilities Map (Map 12). These facilities, consisting primarily of
diversion ditches and a sedimentation pond, will be located,
constructed, and maintained to avoid erosion and increased contribution
of sediment load to runoff. Discussion on sediment and drainage control
is presented under Section 2.05.6.
If encountered during the underground operation, water will be treated
in underground sump areas prior to discharge. Any water encountered
underground will also be utilized to facilitate dust control
underground.
Although the primary means of sediment control are diversion structures
and a sedimentation pond, Peerless Resources will utilize, as necessary,
straw dikes, riprap, check dams, mulches, vege±ative sediment filters,
dugout ponds, or other measures that reduce overland flow velocity or
runoff volume. see ~zh~6i%** ~3
4.05.6 Sedimentation Ponds
The location of the planned sedimentation pond is presented on the Mine
Facilities Map (Map 12). The design plans and specifications for the
sedimentation pond are presented in Section 2.05.6. The sedimentation
pond will be located as close as practical to the area being disturbed
by surface facilities.
MAR 0 4 1986
4.05-5
