Box 165
La Veta, Colorado 81055
Re: Rocky Flat Gravel - File No. 82-129
Dear Mr. Goemmer:
I have received and reviewed your request fora technical revision to your
permit and will plan to present it to the Mined Land Reclamation Board
during tomorrow's meeting. I will recommend approval of the technical
revision to add the asphalt plant and cement plant, but I have the
following comments:
1. Waste materials such as excess asphalt and cement cannot simply be
buried in the pit. The plan is to leave the pit with 3:1 side slopes
and revegetate it. As I understand it, there is no overburden, just
topsoil. Therefore, you should plan to haul these waste materials
away or give more details on exactly how they will be buried and not
disrupt the plan.
2. As soon as the details are available on the types of plants to be used
on the site, they should be supplied to the Division.
Please respond to this letter at your earliest convenience to finish the
processing of this technical revision.
Sincerely,
` ~ur~Q
Mark S.
