The map unit name is <br />Whitecross-Rock outcrop complex, 15 to 45 percent slopes. <br />I have not been to the specific site but from the picture you sent <br />and what you told me, it appears that excavation is in the rock <br />outcrop part of the map unit. In areas of rock outcrop there is <br />usually little or no soil that can be salvaged to use as top soil <br />in reclamation. <br />If any of the Whitecross soil is disturbed or excavated, the top <br />soil should be saved to use in reclaiming the finished site. The <br />pH of the Whitecross soil ranges from 4.5 to 6.0. This is very <br />strongly acid to medium acid. Conductivity is generally very low, <br />less than 0.1 fmuhos cm. <br />I am sending a copy of the map unit description that gives some <br />information on the Whitecross soil properties and the vegetation that <br />grows on the soil. <br />I hope this will help you in getting your reclamation plan together <br />and obtaining a mining permit.
