EXHIBIT H -WILDLIFE INFORMATION
e~s and Gesso, LLC
Cattle pasturing and farming for agricultural crops has greatly altered the wildlife
habitat on the entire proposed permit area. There are several ponds located on
the site, as well as wetlands. The proposed mining operation will not adversely
affect availability of food, habitat, or migration routes for any critical wildlife
species.
Review of wildlife data for this area does not show that any critical wildlife
habitats exist for the Green/Croissant Property Sand and Gravel Mine permit
area. A Preliminary Conservation Planning Area Summary (PCA) from the
Colorado Natural Heritage Program indicated that are no known threatened or
endangered species of plants or animals on this proposed permit area. An
investigation of the proposed permit area was performed by Savage and Savage
in June of 2000.
Preble's Meadow Jumping Mouse (a Federally protected species) habitat is not
present along any of the irrigation ditches running through the permit area. The
mouse requires wet, grassy meadows and dense riparian vegetative cover,
usually occurring within 100' of a stream. No critical habitat for the Preble's
Meadow Jumping Mouse was found to be present on the site.
Please refer to the letters from Savage and Savage and the Colorado Natural
Heritage Program, found in Appendices A and B respectively, to corroborate
these statements.
GreeNCrdssant Property Sand and Gravel Mine.COMG.112 Permit 20023
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. 23 March 2001
