C~
EXHIBIT G -WATER INFORMATION
Overview
Banks and Gesso, LLC
This section describes the existing water features in and nearby the proposed
mining permit area, potential impacts on water resources due to mining, and
water requirements for the project. Local surtace water features in the vicinity of
the project are shown on Exhibit B, Index Map and on Exhibit C-1, Pre-Mining
Map. A Gravel Well Permit and Temporary Substitute Supply Plan will be
submitted to the Colorado State Engineer for approval.
surtace Water
The nearest major watercourse is the Big Thompson River, which flows along the
eastern edge of the permit boundary. Final discharge of excess water recovered
and clarified from de-watering of excavation areas on the permit site may be
made to the Big Thompson River via a pipeline from the recharge pond to the
river. Prior to any discharge activity to the Big Thompson River, the operator will
obtain a CDPS Permit.
Groundwater
Wells located within 600-feet of the permit boundary for the site are shown in
Exhibit C-1. The wells listed as being within 600-feet of permit boundary are all
alluvial wells. It is not believed that any of these wells are a primary source of
domestic drinking water, as the Little Thompson Water District supplies treated
water to the area.
Mining of the proposed excavation area of the permit will be by the "dry-mining"
method. De-watering operations will begin prior to material excavation in Phase
1, and collected in an on-site pond system. Excess water will be discharged into
the Big Thompson River along the eastern property line, after being allowed to
settle. Mining will expose approximately 5.4 surface acres the first year and 9
GreerJCroissaM Property Sand and Greve) Mine.CDMG.112 Perrnd 20023
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. 21 March 2001
