It is possible that non-subsidence related surace mover..ants
could have occurred. No:~ever, the magnitudes indicated by the earlier
readings should have been accompanied by obvious artifacts of movement, such
as cracking or scarp formation. IJext wear's surveying results should resolve
this problem. The report indicates that mining will not occur t.•ithin the
tarcet panel until October, 1983, e.'hich should allow complete resolution.
(Z} The report references surface cracking which has been observed between
panels first and second west. The locations of this crackino should be
indicated on the mine man. If any photographs were :Wade of these cracks,
copies should be included 1.•ithin the report. If a photographic record has
not been made to date, the company should begin photographing such subsidence-
related features hencefort~ncluding careful documentatson of scale.
The subsidence monitoring report was covered by a letter requesting modifications
to stipulation too. 5 of Permit No. C-036-81, stipulation t:o. 5 recites the
subsidence reporting requirements of Orchard Valley's permanent prograr permit.
The company indicates that the annual hydrolocu report will include detailed
hydrologic observations anri requests permission to address hudroleery in a
general vain within the subsidence report. i,'hile this was not s(.cci~ied within
the Findings Lbcu,-jan[, t.iis w.is the Division' intent.
:i,e co~n~ny also requests that the sub,^tission dates for the re'u:mr subsidence
reports be am.•nded fror the original !;ay 1 and A'ovcr.>her to ..u-:at a.-:d
I'eb rua ry 1 of ea c1; year.
